PSVI takes Pfizer vaccines to schools

More than 20,000 persons have been vaccinated against COVID-19 under the Private Sector Vaccine Initiative (PSVI).

The initiative, which is a collaboration among the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association, and the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, started eight weeks ago and up to Friday, September 24, some 20,213 jabs were administered to private sector employees and their dependents.

His strut was as sure as his decision to take the vaccine. Such was the posture of Kemar Ottey, more popularly known as dancehall sensation Ding Dong, when he entered the PSVI Waterloo Centre in St Andrew on Thursday, September 30 for his second shot of the Oxford AstraZeneca COVD-19 vaccine.

Fresh off marking a birthday the day before, the 41-year-old father made it clear that part of his reason for getting vaccinated was to set an example for his children who, he says, will have to get it soon.

PSVI vaccinations surpasses 20,000 private sector employees

After only 8 weeks of implementing its vaccination programme as part of phase 2 of the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ (MoHW) national vaccination plan (NVP), the Private Sector Vaccine Initiative (PSVI) on Friday (September 24) reached a total of 20, 213 vaccinations facilitated among private sector employees and dependents.

100-year-old among those who got the jab at Digicel Vax Day

Members of the downtown Kingston community got an opportunity to get inoculated on Friday when Digicel staged a vaccination drive at its headquarters on the Kingston waterfront in an effort to help to contain the COVID-19 spread across the island.

The vaccination drive targeted workers of Digicel, as well as other staff and residents in the downtown Kingston area.

Cari-Med Group hosts vaccination blitz

Over 500 persons benefited from a COVID-19 vaccination blitz that was hosted by Cari-Med Group Limited last week on the grounds of their corporate head office at 20 Lady Musgrave Road in St Andrew.

The event was another of those organised under the Private Sector Vaccination Initiative (PSVI) and are aimed at broadening the reach of the national vaccination roll-out programme.
