Private sector sets up initiative to support Government’s vaccination plan

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The private sector, through its associations and member companies, has been working with the Government, mobilising a range of resources to support national efforts to manage the COVID-19 health emergency and safeguard the economic welfare of all Jamaicans.

A statement today from the Private Sector Vaccine Initiative (PSVI), says Jamaica’s national vaccination programme should receive a significant boost through the initiative, which sees the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association, and the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica mobilising members to provide funds that will support the Government’s efforts in delivering vaccinations across the three phases of the roll-out.

“This support includes the provision of logistical and technical resources along with the procurement of critical hardware to underpin the programme,” the statement said.
